How do you think you cope with yourself? Do you accept who you are? Love being yourself or hold grudges against yourself? There are no definite answers for these questions. At times you may like yourself, at some other time you may loath yourself for whom you are. In any of these cases you have to live with yourself. You can’t live with yourself happily if you don’t love and accept yourself. No one can.

What is self acceptance?

Self acceptance is all about accepting the kind of person you think you are and loving that being. It is relative to self image and self concept. Self image refers to the way we perceive ourselves to be and self concept means all the notions a person has about himself. Self acceptance is based on positive evaluation of the self; the person we think we are.

Self acceptance does not work in parts. You cannot accept a part of yourself and reject the rest. Just like the way you can’t separate nuts from snickers. They are a part of it, if you don’t like them then you go for a plain chocolate. So, you miss out on snickers as a whole. In the same manner self acceptance is done as a whole and not in fragments.

Accepting yourself does not mean that you make peace with every negative thing about yourself. If you’re an alcoholic or a druggie then you don’t go about practicing self acceptance, you aren’t that consciously aware of yourself for the purpose. You can’t accept every bad quality about under the pretext of accepting yourself as the way you are. Those negative qualities have to be reformed so that you and those around you experience more happiness.

Self acceptance helps you to develop trust in yourself and in life. The more you trust yourself the more you develop trust in your instincts, your inner goodness, your intuition and your soul. You perceive yourself in a different way than you did before, in a more positive way. You tend to develop a more positive outlook towards yourself, people around you and life.

We need to accept ourselves without getting illusioned about who we are. We need to have a clear image and also the right image of ourselves. There is a fine line between self acceptance and self deception which needs to be clear otherwise you’re just fooling yourself. Acceptance is not a passive state or where a person fails to change himself but a state of striving towards your best. Acceptance does not mean you are weak, it means you are strong enough to accept your faults and weaknesses and are willing to work upon them.

So this Self Acceptance, a flower which blooms slowly but its fragrance fades out even slower. It s that part of life which works behind the scene but controls all the other scenes of life. So which scene are you going to beautify today?

Learn more about how to forgive others

You always own certain things in life that are extremely valuable to you. Certain people in whom you had unconditional faith betrayed you in a manner one could never even think of. Your most precious things were taken away from you and hence forth life could never be the same. Every day one lives with the pain of flashbacks, bitter thorns; feelings of how could things end up on a more different note.

Being humans we all suffer pain during the life course. Pain can be cause by anything, be it rape, murder, abuse, or may be simple betrayal. No one becomes unique if that person suffers from pain. Even though sometimes the pain of loss is so pinching that it becomes difficult to put it into words. As a result all we get is a feeling of bitterness, than walls all around us and enables us to make connections with the part of our mind, body and soul that we have lost. It is irrational yet we expect the person who wounded us to suffer.

The only way to leach oneself out of that prison is through forgiving that respective person. In a case study, while I was going through it. I read as to how a girl forgave two guys who had hurt her extremely and in spite of forgiving them strait at that very point of time she still kept struggling for a couple of years ahead to trust someone else she met.

Then I realized that the key to forgiveness is not when someone hurts you and you just out rightly forgive the person. That would never heal your wound completely. This is because every time the old memories and flashbacks will strike you, it would deepen your wound all over again. Thus the only way to forgive someone forever and save yourself from the ocean of sorrows is through persistent forgiveness. Every time that person or even is reminded to you, you ought to forgive that person all over again. Keep forgiving till you are not overcome with that incident and those happenings in your life.

The simplest way is to follow the process of forgiveness. Firstly one needs to know what hurt him, who were the people involved and wrong did they brought to that person. Then you must try to understand the reason behind their action and their motive behind doing so. Further on you realize as to what unforgiveness has done or what it might do if it still continues the same way. Then one must choose to forgive. This can be done in any way may be by writing a journal or say a letter.

Next you sit down with the person and tell him as to what action or deed of his hurt you. For complete forgiveness one needs to be totally open. Realize how the person reacts to your response to his mistake and if he still has issues than that’s certainly not your problem. Next, to pray good for that person and ask god to bless that person always. Lastly you meditate the words of god and preach their lessons of forgiveness all the time. This helps you not only to completely the forgiveness process but also stop from the old memories coming back to your mind.

An Article On How To Forgive Yourself

Forgiving yourself is a challenge. You can loath yourself all you want but you eventually reach a point where your hatred towards yourself becomes exhausting. Until you forgive yourself, your past will keep on haunting you and nobody likes that. You’re actually doing yourself a favor by forgiving yourself.

As difficult as it is, forgiving yourself is a necessary step towards a better life. The following rituals would help you in the process:

Reflecting upon the past: You cannot do anything to change the past but you can change your present. Don’t let the past overshadow your present and future. Ponder over what you did wrong then, you can’t undo it but you can surely prevent yourself from committing the same mistake again. Imagine how things would have gone if you hadn’t made that mistake, how different things would have been, how different your life and you would have been. Think of how you used to be and try becoming a better self, not the sulky self.

Meditation: Meditation is one of the best ways to heal. You are broken and you need mend yourself. Meditate each day for at least a month for fifteen minutes. Do it in a disturbance free surrounding. Concentrate on your breathing, take deep breaths and let your realization dawn upon you. Don’t shut yourself against the negative feelings; instead open yourself up to them. Allow these emotions to sink into you and think of how you can forgive yourself. What can you do to make for the past? At first the confrontation with your negative feelings could be disturbing but after sometime, you’ll feel that your mind has actually calmed down. You would find solace in meditating after sometime.

Chanting: Chanting is an effective way of changing the pattern of your thoughts. They are effective because you keep on saying the same thing over and over again and after sometime you actually start believing in it. Say the chant out loud to yourself everyday for at least ten times. It could be anything like “I allow myself to heal” or “I forgive myself for the mistake I committed in the past” or “I will let go of the past”. This will help you changing the stream of your thoughts.

Keeping a journal: Write down your feelings in a diary. What all you went through today, the feelings that you experienced and the incidents that induced those feelings. This way you’ll come to know what induces negative feelings in you and what makes you happy. Write down the whole process of forgiving yourself, things that you cannot share with anyone. You’ll feel much better after writing your diary.

Compensation: Compensate for your past actions. Make a conscious sacrifice of your time and money and put in your effort to do something good.

Forgiving yourself is a journey who’s destination is a better you. These rituals will help make your journey easier and give you a positive direction.

Here are some real stories, of people, who had fear of public speaking, and how they overcame it. These are really inspiring stories.

“Holly was a 13 year old girl, who had stopped speaking, not that she couldn’t speak or had lost her voice, but that she didn’t want to. Months back, she was raped by her boyfriend, and her friends ridiculed her, because they didn’t trust her. She didn’t tell anything to her mother, and remained quiet. But the experience was so traumatic for her, that she began fearing that she might be ridiculed again if she spoke in public. She bottled up her feelings and would take them off in form of tears. She was scared of going out and meeting people, she thought they stared at her. Her fear of public speaking grew in multiple folds and then slowly she withdrew herself in, She stopped responding to calls, or talking to teachers. She wouldn’t utter single word out of her mouth. Her teachers complained to her mother. She was then referred to a speech therapist and a counsellor, who helped her take out her feelings and start speaking again. With support from her doctor and mother, she went for college debate. Though she didn’t win the competition, but she had won over her fear of public speaking”

.................................................................................................................................

“This is the story of a young boy who quit participating in debates, because he was humiliated beyond repairs in school. He developed a fear of public speaking. Kevin was a regular school guy with a passion for debating. He was the president for his school debating club. He was good at what he did. There was no debate that he could not win, he was that good.

It was a regular school day, but Kevin was stressed, he had a debate competition in which 50 best schools of Singapore were participating. He was representing his school. Fear of public speaking didn’t apply to Kevin’s case; he was good at what he did and had participated in number of debates, to be scared of one now. But, he still was a little nervous. It was a big scale competition. His competitors were some of the best students. He was all ready, waiting for the competition to start.

Competition started; soon it was Kevin’s turn. He went confidently on the stage, started his speech, just then, his mind went blank. He wasn’t able to utter a single word out of his mouth. Lot of people started mocking at him, and then Kevin puked, on the stage, everyone went still for a moment and then there was laughter everywhere. Next day when Kevin went to school, there were flyers all over the school, of him puking with silly comments written all over. That is when his fear of public speaking started. It was too deep-rooted; his mother had to refer a counsellor, who motivated Kevin to start debating again. He changed his school and tried to over his fear of public speaking, a lot of times the efforts were wasted. But, with his mother’s support, he finally did overcome his fear for public speaking and won a national level debate”.

.................................................................................................................................

Few famous celebrities too have been a victim of fear of public speaking. Here are their stories.

“The famous American singer, Donny Osmond, who sang the famous song ‘ Puppy Love’ also was once a victim of fear of public speaking. He starred in the TV show where he had his first anxiety attack. He was scared to talk to public. He had stage fright and experienced a panic attack during a performance in 1994.

The fear of public speaking gave him panic attacks, which prevented him from singing and made him believe he was going to black out. Donny sought assistance from a psychologist and finally did overcome his fear of public speaking.”

.................................................................................................................................

“The famous American singer/actress/director Barbara Streisand's fear of public speaking prevented her from singing on stage for 27 years. During a concert in New York in 1967, Barbara blacked out and forgot the lyrics of several songs. From then, Barbara was scared that she might humiliate herself in public again, if she went on stage. For 27 years, she avoided every possible chance to be on stage. Finally with the help of a counsellor Barbara conquered her fear of public speaking and made a successful comeback in 1994. “

.................................................................................................................................

“Famous and most sought after actor Julia Roberts admitted to have a stuttering problem, in her younger days, which mad her fearful of public speaking. She then with the help of speech therapist, over her stutter and killed her fear of public speaking.”

“Sam Neill, the famous New Zealand television and film actor, suffered from stutter, and therefore was fearful of public speaking. He worked, very hard to control, it, because in his line of work it was required that he spoke fluently. He did overcome this in a large way, making him reduce his fear for public speaking, but in rare instance, you might still find him stutter.”

Are you sick of trying to lose weight? After few months it comes back again doesn’t it always. So what are those small things that we could do in daily life without really going extra mile to keep the lost weight in check? Well weight loss motivation is your answer. What inspires you to lose weight could also inspire you to maintain the balance. You never thought of it, did you? Well, that is why weight loss motivation has few magic tricks that you could apply in your daily life without really disturbing your schedule.

“My friend Kathy tried these, it worked amazingly for her, she now has a balanced diet and checked weight, it’s like nothing ever can make her fat again.”

-Karen

“Weight loss motivation tricks perform wonders, without too much energy. I was an obese, I went to gym, tried yoga and diets, and shed almost every unnecessary fat on my body, but after few months it would keep coming back, my weight was always fluctuating. I just didn’t know what to do. Bu then, I came across this article, it was like god-sent for me. I tried everything that this article said and here I am, my weight has been same sine almost 8 months, I am amazed and grateful for weight loss motivation tricks, they do work. Trust me.”

Clem (mother of two kids)

I know these stories are really inspiring, but I’d suggest that you try these tricks out on your own and then write to us describing your successful experience. Fast ways to lose weight do exist in world; the weight loss motivation is one of them in fact. Let’s have a look at few things that you could use in your daily life.

Packing meal for your friend or co-worker. That way you’d divide your amount into two. The idea is, we overdo our meals, when we prepare it only for ourselves, but while preparing it for others, your portion gets divided, leaving you with the right amount you should be consuming.

Taking fruit salad for your after lunch snacks. No matter how hard you try, the hunger feeling kicks in an hour later after lunch, that’s when we go out to eat junk, but to avoid that you could carry fruit salad, or may be raw fruits, so that when the cravings come, you have healthy food with you to fill your stomach.

When you are bored of salads, or green food, you could go for eggs or yolks; they won’t add any fat at all. You could make scrambles eggs, or omelette with olive oil, to keep your weight in check.

You could make recipe of kale by adding chopped raw kale into cooked beans. Or by slicing kale into thin strips, sauce it with vegetable broth and top it with orange slices. It is healthy and nutritional with no fat value.

You could also make a recipe chart which will help you make different recipe’s every day, that way you won’t be bored of the food you make.

Instead of taking elevator, you could climb steps to office.

Cycling with your kids in the evening, or may be visiting a friend’s house by walking is another good way for weight loss motivation.

Before eating, drink lots of water. That way your stomach could only consume little amount and still feel full.

Small exercise, like ‘Kapalbhati’ which can be performed anywhere sitting also helps to keep the lost weight in check.

Calculate the calories you take in everyday and maintain a chart, that way you will know when you have exceeded.

Following these tricks and more you will have your weight in check. Weight loss motivation works like a magnet. Just motivate yourself and work hard, eat the right food in right amount, follow the above mentioned tricks, and there you are, just the size you want to be.

It is rightly said that “thinking you can is, half the work done”. The mantra which is applicable for our everyday lives is also applicable on our working of the chakras. When we fill our mind with positive thoughts and ideas, it automatically commences working in that direction. Making your self believe that “you can” is what the most vital task is.

Similarly, in the case of chakra balancing, it is important to fill ourselves with positive vibes. This can be done by saying phrases to us either during meditation, in front of the mirror or anywhere. Different affirmations for different chakras are as follows:

Root chakra:

“I know that I belong here and that I am safe”, “I admire my feet because they support me”, “it is safe for me to enjoy my life now”, “I can take risks for what I think is right”, “life is good and I am a life enhancer”.

Sacral chakra:

“I trust myself and my actions”, “I am perfect in myself”, “I am in control of my sexuality”, and “it is perfectly okay to indulge in pleasure”, “I have faith in the process of life”.

Solar plexus chakra:

“I trust in love and life”, “I am worthy of all the good things”, “I deserve my own self love”, “I listen to my deepest insights”, “I avoid judgment and let my life flow”.

Heart chakra:

“I believe in the process of love”, “I acknowledge self love”, “I forgive myself”, “I believe in the decision of the heart and I follow its path”, “I love everything about myself”.

Throat chakra:

“I am able to voice my opinions” , “I feel whole and complete”, “I willingly kicked my bad habits”, “I am ready to explore my field of love”, “I am safe and I am able to express my feeling now”.

Third eye chakra:

“I pay head to my deepest thoughts and intuition”, “I am imaginative and I believe in my ability”, “I live in the truth of my grace, beauty and intelligence”, “I draw what I love and save it for myself”, “I trust god and his decisions”, “I am open to new ideas, views and people”.

Crown chakra:

“Love is eternal and free”, “I am looked after”, “I am worthy of being loved and cared for”, “I acknowledge the source of love within myself”, “I am protected, guided and safe”, “love makes me free”, “I am willing to move ahead in life”.

Spreading positive ideas and making ourselves believe our motives help us in chakra balancing. By saying these affirmation to ourselves out loud, it psychologically makes us think that we are already halfway though our goal.

As per the dictionary, a crown is the top of a head, society, hill etc or a governing body. Similarly, the top or the ruling chakra of the body is called the crown chakra. Placed at serial number seven, it connects us to a higher-self, a universal power or God, as we call it. It acts as a shielding body which looks after all the other chakras under it. The other chakras can only function properly when the crown chakra is working properly. In other words, it is the lever which sets other chakras in motion. This chakra is often pictured as a thousand petals lotus flower. It provides us with a spiritual gateway for our higher self. It also controls our head and nervous system. In Sanskrit language, it is accredited as “Sahasrara” and is associated with the color violet.

So why this chakra does possesses such importance? The answer is hidden in the benefits it provides us with. When the crown chakra is in harmony, it forms a passageway for us to connect to a higher self, a higher power or god. In modern language, its perfect health keeps our ''head straight''. It stimulates our right to aspire and acquire more. A harmonious crown chakra allows for an extended awareness on an emotional level and shows that one has attained peace with God, oneself and the universe, as a whole. This allows inner peace and happiness.

However, if the crown chakra falls out of harmony, it is bound to surround us with thorns of problems. The routine or working of the other chakras is thrown out of balance. For instance, if Sun stops rotating, then all the planets, that are dependent on it, will go haywire and collide into each other causing destruction. Similarly, the crown chakra acts as the Sun of the body, which’s ill-working can cause major destruction in the body. A feeling of abandonment fills us a person since he/she start thinking that their spiritual guide has stopped communicating with them. There is a lack of confidence and desire to achieve. The grave results of an unbalanced crown chakra can be depression, mental illness, epilepsy, Parkinson’s and bone or genetic disorders.

Now the question arises, how to save oneself from falling prey to the ill-health of the chakra. Various methods have been provided by spiritual experts to help one curb the imbalance of crown chakra. Meditation, yoga asanas and prayer target the magnetic field of the chakra and stimulate its movements.

Other than that, using violet colored objects like violet colored clothes, bangles, bags or consuming edibles of such color also helps in maintaining its harmony.

Since the governing body affects the working and functioning of the body, its health is of prime concern. Therefore, one should be alert about the working of the crown chakra and if encountered with any problem, must get it diagnosed.

At the base of the spine there lies a sleeping serpent of energy. In it’s dormant state, we may never realize that it is there. Awakening this coiled and perfectly poised serpent is the basis of spiritual enlightenment, and the act of doing so is what Kundalini Yoga is all about.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga encompasses many levels. Though it is a physically demanding practice, it is also, ultimately, a spiritual journey that expands the consciousness of the individual many times over as it strengthens their bodies and calms the mind. Through Kundalini Yoga techniques, it is possible to accelerate our spiritual development, experience the oneness that comes with the bliss of enlightenment and travel to worlds beyond this one; the Astral Plane, where we eventually end up re-learning something about ourselves that has long been forgotten; that we are timeless beings who have taken the initiative to be ‘in existence’ here on this Earth in order to learn more about all of the ways that we exist. We have come to this Universal University for a reason, and that reason must be found within each one of us if we are to move into the realm of the enlightened.

Kundalini Yoga is comprised primarily of Sutras, or specific poses that channel and release energy and facilitate the rise of the Kundalini upwards, into each of the chakras of our body. Breathing techniques and mantras are also used by the Kundalini Yoga practitioner to take the focus off of one’s thoughts and instead to place it directly in the experience that is being had.

Kundalini Yoga is renown for it’s effects on our consciousness, and it is a practice that has been used for thousands of years in order to prime the pump for Astral Projection, or the ability to be outside of our body in full consciousness.

Raising the Kundalini up from the Root chakra and into the higher realms of the Third Eye and the Crown chakras, we take the initiative to grow. When this serpentine energy finally breaks through, it can be intensely traumatic, beautiful, all encompassing and sometimes, too much for the individual to handle. Though it is tempting to try to do it alone, Kundalini Yoga works much better in the presence of a diligent and well trained instructor.

When we look at our spirituality through the lens of the sleeping Kundalini, we have imagery which we can use to focus on and facilitate these mystically enlightening experiences on our own, thus further progressing on our path to true understanding. Working with Kundalini energy is one of the best ways to develop our natural vision and to see the way through our thoughts to the actuality of what our experience with divinity really is. In this way, we can become enlightened. It is not some something special, reserved only for wise men and sages. It is a part of who we are.

Rooted in the traditions of Hindu mythology, Kundalini energy is the dormant energy that resides in the body. Located at the base of the spine, this “coiled energy” is tied to the Root Chakra and is often referred to as the “serpent power”. Often awakened through the practice of Kundalini Yoga, this force is believed to have powerful consequences for the mind and body. Often compared to astral projection, Kundalini awakening involves all energy fields in the body and can be an intensely spiritual experience. Thought of as a healing force, Kundalini has tremendous benefits, making it an increasingly popular practice.

Awakening the Kundalini

The Kundalini is believed to reside at the base of the spine, in the Root Chakra. When it is awakened, it will rise up through the spine upwards, activating all other chakras on its way out of the body. Often said to be a powerful force as it surges through the body, Kundalini awakening can cause physical reactions, such as tremors, muscle jerks, vibrations, electrical sensations, sounds or voices, and hallucinations. These sensations can be the biggest obstacles in attempts at both Kundalini awakening and astral projection, often leading to an overpowering fear of the unknown. In time and with practice, it is possible to overcome this fear and achieve success in the field of traveling the astral plane.

Major Benefits of Kundalini Awakening

There are several physical, spiritual, and mental benefits that come with repeated Kundalini awakenings. Depending greatly on individual goals as well as tenacity in practicing, this spiritual practice can benefit all areas of life. In order to succeed in reaping these benefits, it’s important to understand the proper ways to treat your body and practice in order to yield the most from Kundalini awakening experiences.

Body Purification—Many believe it is important to keep the body as pure as possible when attempting to work with this energy force. Alcohol, drugs, caffeine, prescriptions, and other impurities can hinder the ability to work with the energy or benefit from the practice. It is also believed that a vegetarian diet can work to improve the effects of all similar practices.

Stress Reduction—Because of the desire to work through a spiritual transformation, it is also necessary to remove any unnecessary factors that cause stress in your life. Making changes to eliminate these things can help you achieve the spiritual transformation that comes with Kundalini awakening.

Get Support—When you decide to work with Kundalini exercises, it often helps to talk about the experience with others that have had it. This can help you gain knowledge about it and get a realistic perspective on what it will be like as you move through the practice for yourself.

Knowledge—Studying astral projection, out of body experiences, and Kundalini awakening can help to remove any fear that may reside in you with regard to the practice and help to encourage success as you move forward. You can read accounts of others, study the works of the originators of the practices, and learn about chakras to improve your chances of success in working with Kundalini.

Grounding—Understanding what it means to ground yourself and routine practice of grounding exercises will also help you work towards better alignment of energy forces in the body and improve the results of Kundalini exercises.

Spirituality—Because of the fact that Kundalini awakening is a highly spiritual practice, it’s important to understand your own spirituality as well as your spiritual goals as you work with the force. Routine work with meditation and other spiritual practices are common for those with an interest in Kundalini awakening.

Kundalini and the Chakras

The Kundalini force resides in the Root Chakra and is therefore tied to all other chakras. When awakened, it will move from the Root Chakra upwards, through all others, until it reaches the Crown Chakras. This practice connects all energy fields, yielding better alignment within the chakras. This harmony is one of the main benefits and motivations for those that work with Kundalini. Whether done through Kundalini Yoga or some other spiritual practices, this power can help you find answers, gain spiritual enlightenment, and find your way to better mind-body harmony.
